Three writers cover the bulk of what we publish — distribution and royalties, Spotify and streaming, and the marketing channels that move the needle for indie artists.

Marcus Jackson has spent 15 years in music. Most of that time he was producing and engineering for other artists across hip hop, pop, and rock. These days he also releases his own tracks, runs his own Spotify campaigns, and writes about what's actually worked. The producer ear matters here: when curators send feedback that other artists would brush off, he's reading it through a different lens.

Marcus writes about distributors, royalties, and the business plumbing of streaming. Former rights administration analyst at a major publisher.

Nadia covers paid ads, TikTok creator marketing, and the data side of indie campaigns. She ran growth for an electronic label in Berlin before joining MelodicMind.

Sarah covers Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube for MelodicMind. She spent six years at indie labels managing release campaigns before moving to journalism in 2022.
