Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information MelodicMind collects when you visit the site, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run an independent reviews publication.
Who we are
MelodicMind is an independent publication covering music distribution, music promotion, and Spotify growth. For any privacy question or request, email hello@melodicmind.com.
What we collect
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell personal data. We collect two kinds of information:
- Analytics data (automatic). Like most websites, we use analytics to understand which articles are read and how the site performs. This includes your approximate location (country/region), device and browser type, the pages you view, and how you arrived (for example, a search engine or a link). We use Google Analytics 4 for this. Google may set cookies and process this data on our behalf; see Google's own privacy resources for details.
- Marketing attribution (automatic). When you arrive from an ad or campaign link, the campaign parameters in the URL (such as
utm_sourceor a Google Adsgclid) are stored in a first-party cookie so that, if you later click through to a service we recommend, that service can attribute the visit to its original source. This contains no personal identity — only campaign labels.
We do not knowingly collect names, email addresses, or payment information through normal browsing. If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to send.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use them for analytics and for the marketing attribution described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site will continue to work without them. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of you.
Affiliate links
Some links to services we review are affiliate links. If you click one and sign up, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Clicking an affiliate link may pass non-identifying campaign parameters to the destination site, which then operates under its own privacy policy. Our rankings are based on hands-on testing and are decided before any affiliate relationship is considered.
Third parties
We rely on a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf or receive it when you interact with our pages:
- Google Analytics — site analytics.
- Vercel — hosting and content delivery; processes standard server request logs.
- Services we link to (for example SoundCampaign and other platforms) — when you click through, you leave our site and their privacy policy applies.
Your choices and rights
You can decline cookies in your browser, use private/incognito browsing, or install analytics opt-out tools. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. Because we do not maintain user accounts, we typically hold no data that identifies you personally — but if you believe we do, email hello@melodicmind.com and we will respond.
Data retention
Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider's standard retention windows. Marketing attribution cookies expire automatically (within 30 days for campaign parameters). Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.
Children
This site is intended for working musicians and industry professionals. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site or applicable law changes. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected here.
